The Center for liberal Moder­nity cor­di­ally invites you to the online presen­tation of the Policy Paper „Support Without Effect? Eco­no­mic factors cons­trai­ning the success of RES support auc­tions in Ukraine“ on Novem­ber 17 at 11:00 CET (12:00 Kyiv time).

The shift from the feed-in tariff to RES auc­tions was inten­ded to reduce the cost of rene­wa­ble energy support and improve its market inte­gra­tion. However, the launch of the auc­tions was delayed by the debt crisis, macroe­co­nomic diffi­culties and wartime risks. The first auc­tions in 2024–2025 proved largely inef­fec­tive – most lots attrac­ted no suc­cessful bids.

During the presen­tation, we will discuss what changes in the feed-in premium and con­tract for diffe­rence mecha­nisms‘ calcu­lation metho­dology are needed to sti­mu­late invest­ment in new RES capa­city, which is neces­sary for the reco­very and develo­pment of Ukraine’s energy system.
